Nicholas A. Natale, PhD
Dr. Nic Natale is a therapist, consultant, and speaker committed to helping others discover how their God-given strengths provides what’s needed in difficult situations. Nic has been licensed to practice psychotherapy as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of South Carolina since 2000. He is a National Certified Counselor and Certified Sex Therapist (AASECT) who has received advanced training in the areas of marriage therapy, sex therapy, problematic sexual behavior, depressive disorders, and leadership development. He currently maintains a private practice in downtown Columbia, South Carolina through Palmetto Counseling Associates. He approaches counseling through a positive, strength-based cognitive therapy that seeks to identify and leverage a person’s own strengths in finding solutions.
Nic treats men, women, and couples on a variety of issues. Some of the more common issues that Nic treats are, but not limited to: marital issues, problematic sexual behavior, sexual dysfunction, improving sexual intmacy, anger, anxiety, depression, leadership struggles, trauma and abuse. Nic also provides consultation with businesses and churches regarding pastor care, burn-out, sabbatical planning, organizational change, and staff development.
Nic has spoken in conferences in the US and internationally, including Portugal, India, Mexico, and Pakistan. He has addressed business professionals, church leaders, humanitarian workers, and families on the subjects of Strengthening Marriages, Intimacy in the Field, Disaster Relief Debriefing, Depression among Pastors, Sexual Addiction in the Church, and many others.
Nic has also served in local churches in a variety of capacities for over 15 years on both the east and west coasts. His depth of faith has led him to serve communities, individuals, families, and leaders at their specific points of need.
Nic has earned a doctoral degree (Ph.D. & Ed.D.) from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and two Master of Arts degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
